The
Dutch Aesthetics Federation (DAF) is a co-operative forum for institutes
and organisations of scholars, students and art critics that work
in the field of aesthetics and art theory. By 2005 it consists of
three institutes: Center for Philosophy & Arts (CFK), Dutch
Association of Aesthetics (NGE) and Dutch Society of Aesthetics
(DSA). It aims at enhancing the specificity of Dutch debates on
aesthetics by organizing symposia and seminars and internationally
publishing the results. Membership is open to institutions and organisations.
The Federation was founded in March 2003 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Beside small scale debates and seminars the Federation aims at organizing
an annual conference in cooperation with recognized art institutions,
such as musea and academies. The founding conference, entitled Intermedial
Reflections in which 50 experts will participate, will be held in
September 2005 in Rotterdam at the Museum Boijmans-Van Beuningen.
The founding members - delegates of the above
mentioned organisations - are
Henk Oosterling (chairman: hafo@xs4all.nl),
Renée van de Vall (secretary: R.vandeVall@LK.unimaas.nl)
and Henk Slager (treasurer: lierboog@dds.nl).
